First week back at school
I had mixed feelings about my kids returning to school last Tuesday.
There are some people in the camp that jump for joy when school returns. And others that cry at the thought of not having their babies home with them all day anymore.
I'm somewhere in between.
I honestly can say that I really enjoyed having my kids home for those 2.5 weeks. We had a great time together. It was nice sleeping in. Not packing lunches. Visiting with family. Having sleepovers with friends.
By 9:00 PM each night, though, my kids were definitely on my nerves! I would usually leave them up with Brian playing video games and go put myself to bed at my normal bedtime. Then I would find out the next morning that my dear husband let them stay up until 11:30 PM! And since they still get up by 7 AM, guess who gets to deal with their grumpiness and lack of sleep?? Hmmm??
The kids had their normal bickering at home during break, but for the most part, they got along pretty well :) It is always a beautiful thing to see them play together so well.
The first day back was on a Tuesday. Ugh, really? Tuesday is like my Monday. Crazy busy. All I wanted to do is lay on the couch with a book or an old 80's movie (Cutting Edge, anyone?) but instead I had a health assessment appointment for insurance, a MOMS Club business meeting, errands to run, and Jayce had two sessions of therapy.
So I set my sights for my R&R day on Wednesday. But Brian got wind of my plans and insisted that I clean the bonus room instead.
Want to see what the bonus room looked like?
In case you can't tell, those are christmas decorations, Family Connection files, wrapping paper, and toys.
After spending a good 3 hours, this is what it looks like now:
I think after tackling that mess, I deserved a morning of complete sloth :)
So, that's what I did this week. With the kids back in school, there's no one around to take photos of. But never you fear... they are calling for 4-8 inches of snow in our little Southern town. I predict several days of family togetherness coming up!
