A perfect ending
The night before we left NC, Brittany took us to a park with a hiking trail and a boardwalk. It was dusk and the lighting was gorgeous! Luckily, none of us got eaten up my mosquitoes!
The kids had a blast running around and just being themselves. Um, maybe a little too comfortable. See, there were no public restrooms within walking distance. And Jayce never knows he has to use the bathroom until he's *this* close to making an accident. Well, that's one of the advantages to being a boy, right? So I told him to just pee in the woods. He was very apprehensive about this. Kyler, his best bud, was a true friend and did not make Jayce go it alone :) That's what friends are for, right? :)
Again, there seems to be many more pictures of the boys than the girls. What can I say? Kyler used to HATE having his picture taken by me. I hardly have any of him before he moved from SC. So I guess I'm making up for lost time :) Which is a great thing because he's so darn cute :)
The girls got along great at the park! They played some old school hand clapping games (what on earth is that called? You know... the thing you did with your best friend in 2nd grade? Where you have a little rhyme or song and you make up clapping and hand movements for it?) It cracks me up, and makes me just a tiny bit sad, when I see my daughter doing school-aged activities that I used to do myself.
I was also able to get a few pictures of Brittany and her kids together. As moms, we know how rare that opportunity is sometimes!

Pictures of moms and kids are indeed rare. I have to tell my husband that he should take a picture or to get the camera when it is just natural for me to take pics of him and Nathan.
