Caterpillars

Jaina has become caterpillar obsessed lately! I guess its just that time of year for them. We've been doing some yard work (like killing miniature rose bushes) this past week so we've found a bunch. We agreed that observing them for a little while is okay, but then the caterpillar needs to be let go because we do not have caterpillar food to keep it alive.




What do caterpillars eat, anyway? According to Eric Carle, they eat: apples, pears, plums, strawberries, oranges, ice cream, pickles, lollipops, muffins, and leaves. Honestly, I don't know how the caterpillars are surviving in our yard if they need that much vitamin C.

Anyway, we went to a little park by my Dad's house last weekend and found even more caterpillars. I personally can't wait to see more butterflies :) They make nicer photography subjects!
