Bienvenidos a la Planta de Asturias
So...
We have all hardwood floors in everywhere but the bedrooms, and no area rugs to cover them. And if you have ever purchased an area rug, you'll know that those things don't come cheap.
But luckily, Brian works for one of the largest privately owned textile companies in the south. All he has to do is go down to the Milliken Store, flash his ID and he automatically gets a discount on anything they have in stock there.
Or, better yet, you can call up an old buddy you know at a rug plant in Georgia and ask them if they have any discontinued or minutely flawed rugs.
I think Brian's exact words were something to the effect of "I don't care if it has the words FREE written all over it, I just don't want to have to pay for it".
A few weeks later and FedEx pulls up at our door. I am super excited as I glance at the rolled up hunter green rug with cream trim.
I am curious to see what design it has on it. I was hoping for one of those kids' themed rugs since it was to go in our playroom, aka dining room.
Imagine my surprise when I unroll it to find this:
Of course, Brian thinks its hilarious and wants to know if we can get another one for the living room. Oh my!
This is what Jaina thought of the rug:

That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time!
ReplyDeleteOMG - I just love this story; I bet the rug will be family heirloom one day with the ridiculous story attached to it!!
ReplyDeleteWell, you said Brian didn't care if it had words on it right? Maybe it will spur an interest in Jaina to learn Spanish and become a world traveler! Funny!
