Happy Birthday to Jaina
Although Jaina's actual birthday is today, we celebrated with her MOMS Club and Covenant friends this past Sunday at Hatcher Gardens.
Thank goodness my mom was around! We found out last minute that we were not having a guided tour (none of the volunteers could fit it into their schedule), so we were at a loss for what to do with the kids! My mom came up with a "treasure hunt" that the kids could go on. Since it was a nature preserve, the kids couldn't actually pick up any of the things they found, but they were so excited to just find the items and mark them off their list.
We had two rough moments of the party. The first one was discovering that I had no cups for the adults to have a beverage. It was 80 degrees outside, so I felt pretty bad!
The second one happened while we were cutting the cake. A woman stopped by to ask if we were missing a little boy. Um, where we? I guess we were! I was cutting cake, Gray was taking pictures, and Brian was chatting with a friend. No one had noticed Jayce leave the party. He was fine, all was well. I'm not even going to entertain the thoughts of things that *could* have happened to him with the slippery rocks, waterfall, and numerous ponds around.
All in all, it was a good day. Every guest commented on how enjoyable and different the party was :)
